1000 hits!

well…a while ago!

this means i have more than five readers!

so all you out there lurking, it’s time to delurk!

who are you?  where are you?  what brought you to random babble?

an interesting aside, all the hits i was getting from one area (i pay attention) mysteriously turned to “unknown”, which isn’t as unknown as one might think.  you aren’t as sneaky and clever as you would like to think you are!

but even better, there are some hits from the far reaches of the known world, so i would like to hear about what brought you here, too!

redundancy rules! and it’s repetitive, too!

if you haven’t paid attention, yesterday congress passed the Vitter Amendment, named for the notorious David Vitter, anti-choice extroidanaire.  According to RH Reality Check, the language simply repeats the Hyde Amendment, which is famous for restricting Medicaid Recipients from family planning services, specifically abortion.  the Vitter Amendment prohibits Indian Health Services (IHS) from using funds to provide abortions to Native American women.

cool, huh?

i always thought so.

i was pretty excited to see that she was a fellow HRC supporter.

three kinds of people…

the Kid’s school offers a parent/teacher workshop twice a year, and i find them impressive to say the very least.  it is a four week class that shows parents and teachers alike how the philosophy of the school helps our children become responsible, respectful, responsive, and resourceful people.  the classes are so wonderful that people from the community who do not have children attending the school come to them.

the teacher who teaches the class has been w/ the school since b/f it was non sectarian.  needless to say he has been teaching a long time, and he is still a damned impressive teacher.  in explaining how the school uses the philosophies of such psychologists as adler, dreikurs, nelson, young, and several others he uses many anecdotes to get the point across.
