I would like to take a moment of your time to ask you a huge favor. If, as I read on sites like Alternet, you really have Senator Obama’s ear, I would like to ask your help in getting him on board w/ all women’s issues.
If Senator Obama is hoping to stand in solidarity and unison w/ you, and if he is looking for your support to help sway your voters to become his voters, then I beg you, help him see what he needs to do to earn their votes.
Help him see that a woman’s right to choose is not negotiable. Encourage him to show us that NARAL’s endorsement of him is warranted. Show him that a staunch record on choice and being a champion for women’s rights is more than just a political issue, it is an incredible matter for concern for at least half of the US population. It is not something that many of us are willing to give up in the name of the Democratic Party. It is not an issue that can be used to pander to anyone…it affects all of us, even men…and Senator Obama needs to realize that.
If your intent, Senator Clinton, is to unify the Party, and to help this country by electing a Democratic President then please use whatever favor you have w/ Senator Obama to show him the error of his ways. Show him how a seasoned and capable senator should handle these issues, and show him what a true Democratic Presidential hopeful should be doing and saying to voters.
Show him that women matter too, and that we are not just a group to be pandered to. Show him that we are not willing to compromise on Reproductive Justice, and why we will not support a candidate who is.
