Friday Random Babblings…

On Monday my baby brother’s wife is going to be induced to give birth to twin boys.  They are concerned about her very high blood pressure, water retention, and other such things.

The part I can’t figure out is that if it is so urgent, and so vital to her health, why are they able to wait to schedule it on Monday?

Anyhow, if you have a higher power, belief structure, good thoughts, positive energy or whathaveyou to spare, say a prayer, light a candle, chant or any other thing for Ambs and the fetuses and my brother (they have a bit of a strained relationship, to put it gently, right now, in addition to all that is entailed w/ becoming parents for the first time).  I just want everyone to be fine and healthy, and for their to be more people for me to love and hug when we go home.  This pregnancy was kind of rough on Ambs, but so far the word is that the fetuses are healthy, five pounds each, and ready to come out.  It is Ambs’ health that is a concern (which is why I am concerned that they would wait all weekend to induce if she is as bad off as they are saying).

Sometimes I worry that doctors disregard the mother’s health for the sake of someone who isn’t even born yet as if she is just a disposable incubator.  It’s not that I am not looking forward to being an Auntie, but I am also NOT looking forward to losing a sister in law b/c a doctor is less concerned about her well being and more concerned about what is growing insider of her.  Pregnancy is not easy on a woman’s body in the best and most “normal” of circumstances, but it is less so when a woman is already tiny and is growing two large (for a multiple birth) fetuses insider her.

That is all.
