WTF M&Ms?

I understand that sex sells. I may not like it, but it is something that I have come to understand in our modern time. I also understand that apparently objectification of the female body seems to be what is selling the most. So, it should probably not surprise me to see these ads from M&Ms that were made for the Sports Illustrated Wank Fodder edition Swimsuit Issue.
And even more charming:
The new ad spots for M&Ms also illustrate this nicely. m&ms have been anthropomorphized in advertising for some time. There is only one female m&m and she is, by no accident, the green M&M. If you remember from elementary school, green is for horny. That, also, is no accident.
So male M&Ms come in multiple colors, flavors, shapes, and personalities, but female M&Ms are just sex objects.
Yes, sex sells, but seriously, sex w/ chocolate?

If you follow the link you will see that this isn’t a new trend w/ M&Ms either. I had the joy of catching one of their adverts a while back. In fact, there is a whole lot going on here that I said before in the comments on that linked post. I get it, women are supposed to be fuckable objects, and men are supposedly helpless victims of their libidos and get all stupid when something attractive walks by.
But seriously, who wants to fuck candy?
I thought us wimminz were supposed to prefer chocolate over sex??

Sex sells…women are the original sin…I think we can thank the Catholic Church and all the off-shoots from there for this idea. We can get angry about it, or maybe we can laugh at the fact that every “supermodel” who sees the add will be inwardly mad at the fact that she a)didn’t get this photo shoot, and b) can’t eat M&Ms anyways…cuz then she’d have to go throw up. It’s things like this that remind me to not sweat the small stuff-though I am guilty of so doing A LOT-and smile at the stupid people. This is why I keep asking for a shark tank at work…feed my sharks with all the dummies. muwahahahahahahahaha
