Dear Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton

I would like to take a moment of your time to ask you a huge favor.  If, as I read on sites like Alternet, you really have Senator Obama’s ear, I would like to ask your help in getting him on board w/ all women’s issues.

If Senator Obama is hoping to stand in solidarity and unison w/ you, and if he is looking for your support to help sway your voters to become his voters, then I beg you, help him see what he needs to do to earn their votes. Read more »

Dear Senator Barack Obama

now is the time.

if you want my vote, my feminist, pro-choice, mother, WoC, LGBTQ ally, progressive vote, this is your chance to prove it.

it is not up to me to change my principles and ideals to align w/ you and your campaign.  it is your job to align your campaign to fit what i want to see to win MY vote.  MY feminist, pro-choice, mother, WoC, LGBTQ ally, progressive vote.

we both have decisions that are properly ours to make.  what are you going to do about it?

if you become the Democratic nom you will not automatically get my vote.  it is still mine to use as i please, and as it stands right now, you do not support what i need to see from my candidate.  you still have work to do to earn it.

please consider this as you continue down this road.

Sincerely,

Ouyang Dan.

*to all of my fellow HRC supporters, and anyone else, what do you need  to see to be able to vote for Obama?  (in fairness, i know RQ will not be able to answer this question.  right now i am trying to decide why i should not do the same as her.)

i knew it!

How to Win a Fight With a Conservative is the ultimate survival guide for political arguments

My Liberal Identity:

You are a New Left Hipster, also known as a MoveOn.org liberal, a Netroots activist, or a Daily Show fanatic. You believe that if we really want to defend American values, conservatives must be exposed, mocked, and assailed for every fanatical, puritanical, warmongering, Constitution-shredding ideal for which they stand.

being former military i often reflect on the past four years.  it was a huge part of my life, a life in which the Kid has grown from infancy into childhood, in fact i am pretty sure that all of her memories are of our life in the military to present.  when i reflect on that part of my life i think about all of the great things, like the incredible education i received, the people i have met, and the amazing places i have and still do live.

i also think about the less savory things that were a part of that life. Read more »

let’s talk politics…

Posted in politics with tags on 7April, 2008 by ouyangdan

since no one else in all the world can not not talk about politics, and my “Mommy Myth” post is not ready for mortal eyes.

via Shakesville I see that Condoleeza Rice is “courting” the Vice Presidential nomination.  I have to agree w/ Liss that a Clinton/Obama ticket on one side, and a McCain/Rice ticket on the other would be fun, what w/ watching pundit heads explode (read Liss’ post, it’s a winner!) and all.

but the real quesion i am begging here, if selected to be the VP on the rethug ticket, would she be brining her magic satchel?  i’m just sayin’.
